What are CHPs?
Combined Heating and Power generators, or CHPs, are generators that produce both power and electricity, a process that is referred to as cogeneration. CHPs are more efficient than using separate standalone heating and power generators. They use the thermal energy created during the electricity generating process to provide heat, reducing energy waste.
1. CHP or Combined Heating and Power Generators. These are generally large units used for industrial, commercial, or large residential buildings.
2. mCHP or Micro-Combined Heating and Power generators. These are smaller units, usually 50KVA and under, which are designed to provide heating and electricity to a home or a small business.
3. CCHP or Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power generators, which can also provide cooling. These are usually large units, they have similar applications to CHPs.
